Fire Protection Association
The Fire protection Association (FPA) has unrivalled experience and expertise in sprinkler standards and testing. This expertise is combined with the use of FPA’s fire test laboratory, one of the most flexible fire testing facilities in Europe.
FPA’s fire test laboratory allows clients to test the firefighting capability and suitability of sprinkler protection and other active fire protection measures, against real large scale fire challenges. This includes fit for purpose testing of new or proposed products and systems, and expert witness work recreating various fire scenarios to exact specifications. The variable height ceiling at the FPA laboratory means that the tests have complete flexibility and produce meaningful results.
The experienced team in the laboratory also perform sprinkler head testing. This is a cost effective way to ensure fire sprinklers are fit for purpose and conform to LPC Rules for Automatic Sprinklers.
FPA’s sprinkler courses are uniquely practical as all contain time in our state of the art sprinkler suite at the fire test laboratory and provide a hands-on experience, as well as the necessary theory. FPA provide courses of all levels from basics, to design, to maintenance.
FPA act as the convenor of the BSI working group which advises on the rules and provides a version of the rules including the BS document and practical notes on application in both printed and digital format.
