The former post office building in Lübecker street in Berlin was transformed into a modern office in the course of a renovation and equipped with an AQUASYS high-pressure water mist system. AQUASYS already took on an advisory role during the planning phase and was able to design an efficient fire-fighting system with high-pressure water mist together with the customer to match the fire protection concept.
Modern room design with open office areas and different fire scenarios presented challenges in the planning of the fire-fighting system. Flexibility in the positioning of the spray nozzles, as well as in the pipe routing, was therefore required. The high-pressure water mist system from AQUASYS fulfilled these requirements excellently. Above all, the advantages over conventional sprinkler technology, such as compact storage for the extinguishing agent, a system service life of over 25 years and the low-weight performance system, speak additionally for the innovative high-pressure water mist technology from AQUASYS. In the event of an emergency, the fine water mist is immediately distributed in the room, quickly removes the heat from the source of the fire and also cools the surroundings. The three-dimensional spread of the water mist also makes individually tailored nozzle concepts possible, thus offering architects maximum flexibility in room planning.

Thanks to good logistical planning and the continuous support of our experienced project managers from Linz, our local partner MARANG Brandschutz & Technologie GmbH was able to install the various partial deliveries on time and keep to the schedule for the respective construction stages. The pump unit with uninterruptible power supply system was adapted to the local space conditions and supplies the nozzle heads to protect the room, false ceiling and attic, as well as gallery and office areas. This eliminated the need for structural fire protection measures to compensate for the existing ceilings and structural qualities. The high-quality stainless steel piping of the HDWN system from AQUASYS also nestles perfectly into the building structure and can be bent and manufactured directly on site. Individually adapted solutions, as in this case, are possible due to the direct involvement of our experienced experts, who enable a fluid project flow. The modular assembly solutions are produced and tested in Linz. This means that they can be adapted to the situation on site quickly and without complications if necessary.
“In all these situations, the aim of firefighting systems is to contain fires at the moment they break out, while maintaining a safe environment in the immediate vicinity. HPWM has proven to be a reliable technology in recent years and is instrumental in increasing safety and helping our customers achieve their financial goals,” summarises Sales Group Manager Michael Bindreiter.
