The latest addition to the TX3 family of access control units, the TX3-CX-1 has all the features for an entry-level access control application with the flexibility of scalability. An innovative Power over Ethernet (PoE) controller with a built-in proximity reader that can be used stand-alone or networked using either RS-485 or Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/ Internet Protocol (IP).
The device can be mounted onto a single gang electrical box and connect CAT-5/6 cable for both power and network communication.
Power for the TX3-CX-1 can be by either a 12 VDC, 24 to 48 VDC or PoE. Network the controller by RS-485 or TCP/IP.
The controller has a built-in 125 KHz proximity reader for interior applications. Any second Wiegand card reader can be added for outside the door.
The TX3-CX-1 may be used stand-alone or networked to other TX3 platform devices for up to 63 nodes if using the RS-485 network. Essentially no limit if TCP/IP is used.
The TX3-CX-1 is UL 294 listed, making it the safest solution for your project.

Mircom’s TX3-CX-1 Single Door Controller is now UL 294 listed. Our single door controller simplifies access control and is great for entry-level access control applications.
The TX3-CX-1 is the ideal solution for:
- Any door requiring access control where wiring to a traditional metal cabinet is difficult
- Any access point that requires access control at the edge of the network using TIA/EIA-485 or TCP/IP
- Any access point that only has DC or PoE available.
- The TX3-CX-1 also has all the capabilities to control a single door including 12 VDC, 700mA of local power for a door strike and can support any second Wiegand card reader from outside the protected area.
