Fire suppression systems are vital for keeping people and assets safe from fire hazard.
Periodically verifying the amount of suppressing agent in the fire suppression system’s storage tanks is crucial to ensuring the system operates correctly.
TLX Technologies’ Liquid Level Sensor provides consistently accurate, thermally compensated readings of the fluid level in the system’s storage tanks.
The Liquid Level Sensor uses a sealed tube with a magnetic float mounted on the outside of the tube. This tube is installed in the tank prior to being filled with the suppressing agent. There is another magnetic float inside the tube that interlocks with the float outside the tube, providing an accurate measurement of the fluid level inside the tank. At the end of the tube at the top of the tank is a sensor that registers the position of the float. The sensor sends float position data, as well as temperature data, to a microcontroller, which calculates the weight of the suppressing agent in the storage tank.
The weight of the suppressing agent can be displayed directly at the tank on a digital display or transmitted to the fire control panel via a hardwired or wireless connection. Data can also be accessed through an app on a tablet or smartphone through wireless or cellular connection or downloaded to a thumb drive through a USB port. Additionally, a simple GO/NO-GO status can be displayed with a green/red light to indicate the status of the storage tank.
For almost 20 years, TLX Technologies has been pioneering fire suppression actuation solutions by designing new solenoids, valves, and actuators for the fire protection industry. Our fire suppression actuators ensure a faster, more durable, and reusable solution—expertly tailored to your exact needs.
